_01 Antonio Argandoña<br />
Professor in the Department of Economics<br />
IESE Prof. Antonio Argandoña, the holder of the ‘la Caixa’ Chair<br />
of Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance,<br />
received the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual<br />
European Faculty Pioneer Awards for his prolific scholarship.<br />
“During his 45-year teaching career, he has been an institutional<br />
leader, bringing corporate responsibility and business ethics<br />
into the core of the IESE curriculum.” These words voiced the<br />
European Academy of Business and Society (EABIS) and the<br />
Aspen Institute Center of Business Education’s opinion of Prof.<br />
Argandoña. The IESE professor has contributed nearly 100 book<br />
chapters and publications on economics and social responsibility,<br />
as well as many research papers.<br />

Holder of the Carl Schrøder Chair of Strategic<br />
Management<br />
In October, Prof. Ricart officially initiated his tenure as the president<br />
of the Strategic Management Society (SMS), one of the<br />
most prestigious international associations in the area of strategic<br />
management. Founded in 1981, the society consists of more<br />
than 2,000 members from more than 50 countries who represent<br />
a wide range of academic backgrounds and perspectives.<br />

Academics, business practitioners, and consultants comprise the<br />
membership of the SMS, which focuses on the development<br />
and dissemination of insights on the strategic management<br />
process, as well as on fostering contacts and interchange around<br />
the world.<br />

_03 B. Sebastian Reiche<br />
Assistant Professor in the Department of Managing People<br />
in Organizations<br />
Earlier this year, a junior member of IESE’s faculty, Prof. B.<br />
Sebastian Reiche, was honored. The assistant professor was<br />
one of four finalists for the Barry M. Richman Best Dissertation<br />
Award. The International Management Division of the<br />
Academy of Management grants the award.<br />
Prof. Reiche’s doctoral thesis, “Knowledge Sharing through<br />
Inpatriate Assignments in Multinational Corporations: A<br />
Social Capital Perspective,” entailed a survey of inpatriates<br />
– foreign managers that are temporarily assigned to a<br />
multinational’s headquarters. Prof. Reiche studied 286 inpatriates<br />
at 10 German multinationals.<br />
