n <strong>Federation</strong>’s Synagogue Institute facilitated the collaboration <strong>of</strong> our<br />
community’s synagogues and communal agencies on many exciting initiatives, which<br />
bolstered the relationships between both our partner agencies, and pr<strong>of</strong>essional and<br />
lay leadership <strong>of</strong> synagogues.<br />
n Temple Israel and Temple Judea held joint Mussar (<strong>Jewish</strong> ethics) classes<br />
and shared a scholar-in-residence.<br />
n Temple Emanu-El and AJFCS<br />
brought together Holocaust survivors and<br />
religious school students to meet and<br />
learn from each other through a series <strong>of</strong><br />
educational programs.<br />
n Temple Beth Tikvah and Temple<br />
Beth Kodesh hosted a collaborative<br />
Shavuot holiday program.<br />
<strong>Federation</strong> provided<br />
synagogue lay leaders with<br />
opportunities to meet<br />
and learn from national synagogue<br />
outreach pr<strong>of</strong>essionals, strategize<br />
and develop new ways to increase<br />
affiliation and engagement in<br />

FAST FACT... <strong>The</strong> rabbis <strong>of</strong> our community, together with <strong>Federation</strong> CEO David<br />
Phillips, convened to address community issues and challenges through the Synagogue<br />
Institute’s Rabbinic RESHET Council, resulting in increased collaborative planning for<br />
the future.
