The MasterBUILT Hotels team were joined by Mayor Gene Sobolewski, Town Council and<br />

several key staff members of the Town of Bonnyville on Wednesday, December 10th to celebrate<br />

the construction of the prototypical, new build, 87-room Microtel Inn & Suites in Bonnyville,<br />

AB scheduled to open in the late 2015 bringing the number of open and operating<br />

Microtel locations to four in Alberta, two in B.C., three in SK and three in Ontario.<br />

Located in the East Gate Development, part of the new $13 million development project<br />

that the Town of Bonnyville and local developers have been working on for the past few<br />

years, comprising both commercial and residential construction, the hotel will bring the<br />

total number of hotel rooms in the destination to just beyond the 900 mark and will feature<br />

meeting space, fitness centre, business centre and complimentary hot breakfast.<br />

The Fairmont Palliser Celebrates 100 Years<br />

The Fairmont Palliser celebrated 100 Years by raising money for Ronald McDonald House<br />

Southern Alberta. The hotel placed an undecorated Christmas Tree of Hope in the lobby and<br />

reached out to the community for support to help decorate it raising funds for this important<br />

cause. This campaign, with 100 per cent of the funds raised going directly to help sick kids and<br />

their families, coincided with Fairmont’s famous program in its 22nd year of operation, the fifth<br />

year at The Fairmont Palliser, by making Room at The Inn for out-of-town families visiting hospitalized<br />

relatives in Calgary.<br />
