D.D.S., M.S.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Carrière’s philosophy of working in harmony with the body—using precision
engineering to achieve treatment goals—has led to a uniquely minimalist approach
to orthodontic treatment. Using advanced computer modeling and a scientific,
systematic approach to treatment planning, Dr. Carrière has pioneered a treatment
path that is conservative, efficient, and optimally effective. His treatment
philosophy also incorporates respect for the patient, and this respect is reflected
in the comfortable, low-profile designs of the Carriere Distalizer and the Carriere
SLB. Widely welcomed as a guest professor and lecturer at various orthodontic
schools and professional meetings throughout Europe and the USA, Dr. Carrière has used these opportunities to
share his unique philosophy with thousands of orthodontic professionals worldwide who also seek to provide their
patients with comfortable, effective, and innovative treatment solutions.
Dr. Carrière began his career as an orthodontist in 1991 when he received his DDS from the Universidad
Complutense de Madrid. In 1994, he obtained his MSD in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the
University of Barcelona School of Dentistry. And, adding to a growing list of credentials, in 2006 Dr. Carrière received
his Ph.D. Cum Laude in Odontology, also from the University of Barcelona. Working closely with his father at the
highly regarded Clínica Carrière (www.carriere.es) in Barcelona, Spain, Dr. Carrière continues to dedicate himself
to researching and developing advanced, innovative techniques that maximize treatment results as well as patient
comfort. In addition to his educational achievements, Dr. Carrière has earned numerous professional distinctions,
including the Joseph E. Johnson Award (AAO, 1995). He also serves on the Editorial Review Board for the American
Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and is a member of the External Examination Committee of the
General Council of the Universities (Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports of Spain).
