Last Will and Testament<br />
I, Hattie <strong>Johnson</strong> of the Town of Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York, do make, ordain, publish<br />
and declare this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say:<br />
First: I direct the payment of my just debts, if any, and my funeral expenses.<br />
Second: I give and bequeath to my husband William <strong>Johnson</strong> the entire use of all of my real and<br />
personal estate that I own at the time of my death during his life time.<br />
Third: I give and bequeath to my son Rhyla <strong>Johnson</strong> all of the real and personal estate that I may own<br />
at the time of my death subject to the use of it to my husband William <strong>Johnson</strong>.<br />
Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my husband William <strong>Johnson</strong> of the Town of Canton, NY to<br />
be executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.<br />
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 20tieth day of July<br />
in the year of our Lord, 1893<br />

The Petition of William <strong>Johnson</strong> of the town of Russell in said County, Respectfully showeth: that<br />
Hattie <strong>Johnson</strong> late of the town of Russell in said County, departed this life in the town of Canton, NY<br />
aforesaid on the 14th day of August 1893 having previously, as your petitioner is informed and<br />
believes duly made and executed her last Will and Testament. That your petitioner is one of the<br />
legatees named in the said Will. That the said deceased was a citizen of the United States. That she<br />
was at or immediately previous to her death an inhabitant of the County of St. Lawrence, owning real<br />
and personal estate therin, and that said last Will and Testament relates to real estate, not exceeding<br />
in value the sum of $500 and personal estate not exceeding in value the sum of $100.00.<br />
Your petitioner further shows that the heirs and next of kin of the said Hattie <strong>Johnson</strong>, deceased are as<br />
follows:, and none other or others to the best knowledge, information and belief of your petitioner, viz:<br />
William <strong>Johnson</strong> Husband, residing at Russel, NY<br />
Rhyla <strong>Johnson</strong> son, residing at Russell, NY<br />
Fred <strong>Johnson</strong>, son, residing at Russell, NY<br />
