Barbara Ball<br />
Roses are red, and violets are blue.<br />
I sent you a letter and heard nothing from you.<br />
My mailbox is empty; my phone does not ring.<br />
Even my email displays a blank screen.<br />
So where are you? How are you? What do you know?<br />
Please get it touch, and I’d appreciate it so.<br />
I know we’re all busy with our daytoday.<br />
But texting takes seconds, so what do you say?<br />
We’re doing fine, as well as can be.<br />
We have our health, our home, and our family.<br />
These are the things I am most thankful for.<br />
To hear you’re okay I’d be thankful even more.<br />
So roses may be red, but I’m the one who’s blue<br />
Simply because I haven’t heard from you.<br />
Take care of yourself. I hope you are fine.<br />
I’ll be waiting to hear from you in sweet time.<br />
