The flowers at the lectern today are given to the glory of God by friends and<br />
family of Helen Baughman in celebration of her 100 th birthday.<br />
A Memorial Service for Marjorie Van Scoyoc will be held at 2:30 p.m. today<br />
Sunday, July 7 in the Memorial Chapel. Reception following in the Living<br />
Room.<br />
Healing Service: The monthly Holy Eucharist with the Laying on of Hands for Healing will be this<br />
Thursday, July 11, at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel.<br />
Hope Garden:<br />
The monthly Service of Song and Prayers in Hope Garden led by our chaplain<br />
interns will be held this Thursday, July 11, at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.<br />
Guest Preacher: Please welcome Jaimie Crumley, one of our Clinical Pastoral Education chaplain<br />
interns, as our guest preacher next Sunday July 14, at 9:00 a.m. in the Memorial<br />
Chapel and 10:30 a.m. in the 2 nd floor Orchard Dining Room.<br />

The many ministries of the Memorial Chapel are supported through residents<br />
who serve as ushers, greeters, readers, chalice bearers, piano players, altar guild,<br />
offering counters, and more. Please consider how you might participate. Training<br />

Do you play piano? If you have the gift, please consider sharing it with your<br />
fellow residents, their families, and other visitors who attend our services. There<br />
are a variety of opportunities, both Sunday and Thursday, some morning, some<br />
afternoon. The experience is rewarding, your effort is appreciated, and the<br />
benefits are heavenly! If you are willing to help even once a month or would like<br />

Food ingathering for ALIVE! is the 2 nd Sunday of each month. Canned food<br />
may be placed in the green box at the door of the Chapel. Financial gifts may be<br />
placed in envelopes marked for ALIVE and placed in the offering plate. Please<br />
make checks payable to ALIVE (not <strong>Goodwin</strong> <strong>House</strong>). For a personal<br />
receipt, you may send your checks directly to: ALIVE!, 2723 King Street,<br />
Alexandria VA 22302.<br />
Please wear your name tags to all chapel services and other events. They are an<br />
important way of showing welcome and hospitality to visitors and newcomers.<br />
A pair of earrings was found in the offering basin recently. See the Chaplain.<br />
Next week, Sunday, July 14 to Thursday, July 18, your Chaplain Bruce will be<br />
leading an evening Vacation Bible School for all ages at Holy Cross Episcopal<br />
Church, 2455 Gallows Road, Dunn Loring VA 22027. The program runs each<br />
evening 5:30-8:15 p.m. including dinner (or come when the program begins at<br />
6:15). Classes are available for children and adults, so come and bring all the<br />
