<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> is<br />

volunteer leadership <strong>of</strong><br />

Cardinal’s Committee<br />
For Charity (CCC)<br />
The Cardinal’s Committee<br />
for Charity is a membership<br />
<strong>of</strong> caring leaders <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
New York business<br />
community who support<br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> at <strong>the</strong><br />
request <strong>of</strong> His Eminence,<br />
Edward Cardinal Egan.<br />
CCC members provide<br />
financial resources and<br />
counsel to help solve <strong>the</strong><br />
problems <strong>of</strong> New Yorkers<br />
in need. <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong><br />
provides help and creates<br />
hope without regard for<br />
race, ethnicity, religion or<br />
ability to pay. CCC similarly<br />
seeks a diverse membership<br />
that reflects <strong>the</strong> breadth<br />
and depth <strong>of</strong> New York and<br />
<strong>the</strong> businesses located here.<br />
CCC business divisions<br />
include Finance, Hospitality<br />
and Tourism, Real Estate,<br />
Accounting and Lawyers.<br />
An emerging Hispanic<br />
division recognizes <strong>the</strong><br />
contributions and needs<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nation’s largest<br />
minority population.<br />
A Young Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />
division <strong>of</strong>fers volunteer<br />
and philanthropic opportunities<br />
to a new generation<br />
<strong>of</strong> caring New Yorkers.<br />
CCC seeks to attract a wide<br />
circle <strong>of</strong> New Yorkers to<br />
ensure that <strong>the</strong> business<br />
community’s tradition <strong>of</strong><br />
philanthropy and concern<br />

thousands <strong>of</strong> individuals<br />

many forms: cash gifts, gifts<br />
<strong>of</strong> marketable securities,<br />
planned gifts, gifts <strong>of</strong><br />
retirement plan assets,<br />
gifts <strong>of</strong> life insurance and<br />
real estate and volunteering<br />
time and talents.<br />

Giving Club<br />
Individuals interested in<br />
supporting <strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> can<br />
make <strong>the</strong>ir annual giving<br />
easier and more efficient<br />
by joining <strong>the</strong> Chorus<br />
<strong>of</strong> Angels Giving Club.<br />
Donors become Angels<br />
by making <strong>the</strong>ir gifts<br />
through automatic monthly<br />
credit-card payments.<br />
St. Nicholas Project<br />
The St. Nicholas Project<br />
carries on <strong>the</strong> tradition <strong>of</strong><br />
generosity and charity<br />
characteristic <strong>of</strong> St.<br />
Nicholas, <strong>the</strong> third century<br />
Bishop <strong>of</strong> Myra. While<br />
associated with Christmas,<br />
St. Nicholas served <strong>the</strong><br />
poor throughout <strong>the</strong> year.<br />
Caring staff helps year<br />
round with emergency<br />
and long-term support.<br />
At Christmas time, our<br />
Adopt-A-Family Program<br />
provides gifts <strong>of</strong> necessities<br />
such as coats, scarves,<br />
gloves and blankets to<br />
more than 2,100 individuals.<br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> donors<br />
and volunteers partner<br />
with Kmart®, UPS, and<br />
o<strong>the</strong>rs to ensure a Merry<br />
Christmas for all.<br />
Young Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />
Focused on volunteerism,<br />
outreach and fundraising<br />
to support client services,<br />
Young Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />
cultivates <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>’<br />
next generation <strong>of</strong> volunteer<br />
and philanthropic<br />
leadership. This group<br />
coordinates volunteer<br />
projects including St.<br />
Nicholas Project holiday<br />
programs and hosts<br />
fundraising events to<br />
support <strong>the</strong> work <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>.<br />
