The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting<br />
Association was founded in 1869 as a<br />
Methodist Camp Meeting.<br />
In 1980 Ocean Grove became an official<br />
part of Neptune Township and remains<br />
under its jurisdiction today. As such, all<br />
municipal services are provided by<br />
Neptune Township.<br />
Ocean Grove is one of America's most<br />
historic and unique towns. The Camp<br />
Meeting Association, and subsequently,<br />
the community, were formed by a group<br />
of dedicated ministers and lay people<br />
who were committed to providing a place<br />
for spiritual birth, growth and renewal in<br />
a Christian seaside community. Ocean<br />
Grove is affectionately referred to as<br />
"God's Square Mile," and there are many<br />
shows and activities presented in and<br />
around the Great Auditorium each year.<br />
