Welcome to AusRAIL 2010!
AusRAIL is the forum where senior executives come to discuss future policy, investment and the latest technological
developments in the rail sector. It is an essential ‘ go to’ conference for the rail industry.
It is an event where government policy is influenced and announced, and the future of the industry is debated for the
coming year, for our 2010 agenda we have chosen to discuss The Rail Plan: Where? How? Why?
Senior industry representatives will present the industry’s objectives, plans and strategies in order to achieve the optimum operational
environment for freight and passenger rail services.
Throughout the conference program we will discuss the immediate challenges that our industry is facing, such as patronage growth in
passenger services, and the associated capacity issues this represents. Other highlights of this year’s conference are the Road and Rail
and the Rail Constructors discussion panels.
AusRAIL has grown to become a truly international event, with regular attendance from Australasia, Europe, North and South America,
Africa and Asia. This year support for the event has been overwhelming, from all corners of the rail industry, from all corners of the globe.
70 companies will be exhibiting their products and services over the 2 day event. Delegates will be able to build new relationships and
strengthen existing ones with the who’s who of the rail industry.
Over 65 senior executives from across our industry will contribute to the conference agenda. This will enable you to develope a new
understanding of both the future policy forces that will impact the rail industry here in Australia, and the cutting edge of innovation
from projects being developed across the globe.
As ever, our fantastic social program will allow you to network with your peers in a relaxed atmosphere. The exhibition networking
drinks will take place on the evening of the 23rd November with the AusRAIL Gala Dinner being held on the 24th. This year guests to the
dinner will enjoy a performance from the Western Rail Players, a specially assembled chamber orchestra, brought together for a one-off
performance especially for the occasion.
I look forward to meeting you in Perth for AusRAIL 2010.
Yours Sincerely,
Bryan Nye
Chief Executive Officer, Australasian Railway Association
