3. Whoever wrote <strong>Judges</strong> 1 under the leadership of God’s Spirit wanted the<br />

reader of this historical account to understand two things in this chapter: first,<br />

who the tribes of Israel were who failed to drive out the enemies from their<br />

inheritance of the land given them by God; secondly, who the enemies or<br />

nations were that Israel did not destroy. To make sure that you are able to<br />
