Development services Site identification Our development services teams utilize advanced GIS constraint mapping techniques to rapidly identify potential wind farm sites at country or local level. Site design All potential wind farm sites are unique. Within the constraints identified we design and optimize the layout for maximum value – a balance of energy yield and buildability. Environmental assessment We have been undertaking Environmental Impact Assessment work since the early 1990s, giving us industry-leading experience. We undertake and coordinate the full range of environmental studies required for the production of Environmental Statements. These are prepared in compliance with statutory requirements and international Best Practice Guidelines. All Environmental Statements are carried out in full consultation with planning authorities and consultees. Community consultation We work closely with local communities, seeking to blend wind farms into local landscapes. Design and cost estimation Wind Prospect continually updates and refines data on project costs using actual costs from completed projects, quotations and estimates obtained for proposed sites. Our expertise lies in minimizing cost by design, including tight definition of the scope of civil works and negotiating with local electricity companies to secure minimum cost grid connection.
Operations 24/7 We manage wind farms for the benefit of the 24/7 owner. We achieve up to 99.7% availability on the wind farms we operate, far exceeding the industry average. This additional income goes straight to the owner’s bottom line. Our effectiveness comes from Active Operational Control (AOC), a 24/7 monitoring service providing real time monitoring and response to faults, coupled with an organized, proactive and continuous approach to managing maintenance. Due diligence We act on behalf of owners, investors and banks requiring due diligence services. We both advise on prospective acquisitions and sales of projects and portfolios. We review the data, the risks and the value from a real world technical and commercial perspective. Wind data acquisition and resource analysis Wind projects need the best possible estimates of wind speeds and energy yield. We have the experience and equipment required to assess your wind resource, gathering quality data and modelling the wind regime using industry standard software. Wind data Wind Prospect has installed and managed over 100 wind monitoring masts across Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. Turbine procurement Turbine procurement is a vital component of every wind energy development. An acceptable price must come with the right terms and conditions. On-time delivery, grid compliance and the provision of adequate warranties are essential for a project’s success and these aspects must always meet with the requirements of financing institutions.
