TRUE ALIGNMENT £119
The new Wilson Staf Infinite
putter range encompasses four
iconic head shapes with
counter-balancing technology.
This places more weight in the
grips to move the balance point
closer to the hands for a more
stable stroke.
The 8802 continues the
heritage of the original Wilson
Staf milled putter that won
multiple Major championships.
The latest 8802 model is
milled from 304 stainless
steel for the ultimate in
precision and feel.
True alignment technology is a
patented Bump on the sole which
allows face angle to remain square
regardless of the loft. The two models
have patented C-groove technology,
high MOI and tungsten plate weights
in the heel and toe. A bright yellow
insert ofers better alignment.
BUYING ADVICE
A fitting solution
Find the putter that fits your stroke
The importance of putting is often overlooked, yet
it makes up around 40-50% of your total score.
Tour pros average 27-28 putts per round, yet the
average club golfer has between 37-40 putts per
round – that’s a 10-shot diference!
So why do people get fitted for a driver that
they’ll hit six or seven times a round, but not a
putter they’ll hit 40 times? It’s crazy.
Every golfer is unique in how they putt, just as
they are in how they swing a golf club, so it makes
sense to get fitted for a putter and not simply buy
one of the rack. The pros at American Golf
recognise that there are numerous variables in
getting fitted for your ideal putter beginning with
the shape (ie blade, mallet or concept).
After this they look at the length followed by
the shape of your putting stroke – do you have a
large in-to-out swing or a squarer path? This is
complemented by the
shaft position and hosel
style allowing you to
swing the putter along
your individual path
most consistently. As
you can see, with so
many variables to
consider and the
impact putting has
on your scoring, the
importance of
getting fitted for
your putter is
crucial.
