At its best, research on memory may help heal the split in our lives between<br />
subjectivity <strong>and</strong> objectivity, reduce the fractures in our own personae. As we face<br />
the challenge of a new millennium in an increasingly fragmented world, this goal<br />

Finally, in order to assess how far the findings <strong>report</strong>ed here are ultimately transferable<br />
beyond the specific practices of Sally Mackey <strong>and</strong> CSSD, the research project could now<br />
begin to explore comparisons with other educational practices within Central <strong>and</strong> other<br />
schools of drama-education training in the UK <strong>and</strong> abroad. As Andy Kempe of Reading<br />
University states, <strong>and</strong> as I have suggested above, the implications not just for actor training<br />
but for aesthetic, social <strong>and</strong> indeed environmental education could be considerable.<br />
