Registration, Voting, & Budget Information
Voter Qualifications
Eligible District residents are encouraged to
exercise their right to vote on the school budget
or other matters brought before the community
and for Board trustees. Syosset residents who
have lived in the District at least 30 days prior to
the voting date, who are United States citizens,
18 years of age or older, and who are currently
and properly registered may vote.
Voter Registration
The Syosset Board of Education has adopted
permanent personal registration procedures in
accordance with state law. Registration dates for
new voters are announced through public notices
and through school District mailings. Residents
currently registered to vote in general elections
are automatically registered to vote in the school
District and need not register again. The reverse,
however, is not true. The Register prepared for
the Annual District Election will be filed in the
office of the District Clerk and will be open for
inspection by qualified voters of the District
between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on each of the
five days prior to the election except Sunday.
Budget and Tax Information
Public meetings are held each year before the May
voting date. Details of qualifications, registration,
and voting procedures will be published in the
budget brochure or other special publications
mailed to all District residents.
Election Districts:
There are currently seven (7) election districts for Syosset Central School District elections.
These are different than the election districts for general elections. The seven (7) election
districts for school district elections are as follows:
Election District 10: Residents who live in the Baylis Elementary School attendance zone
will vote at Baylis Elementary School,

Election District 11: Residents who live in the Berry Hill Elementary School attendance
zone will vote at Berry Hill Elementary School,
181 Cold Spring Road, Syosset, NY
Election District 13: Residents who live in the Robbins Lane Elementary School attendance
zone will vote at Robbins Lane Elementary School,
157 Robbins Lane, Syosset, NY
Election District 14: Residents who live in the South Grove Elementary School attendance
zone will vote at South Grove Elementary School,
60 Colony Lane, Syosset, NY
Election District 17: Residents who live in the Village Elementary School attendance zone
will vote at Village Elementary School,

Election District 18: Residents who live in the Walt Whitman Elementary School attendance
zone will vote at Walt Whitman Elementary School,
