Insert the tibial keel trial through the slot into<br />

the cavity to confirm adequate bone has been<br />

removed (Figure 35).<br />

Note: Due to the differences in keel width, there<br />

are separate tibial keel trials for metal-backed and<br />

all-polyethylene (Figure 36). Ensure the correct<br />

trial is used to assess bone removal.<br />

Use the tibial peg drill to prepare the tibial peg<br />

hole. The peg hole should be drilled as close to<br />

perpendicular as possible (Figure 37).<br />
