contribution to society. The Scottish Executive has stated that ‘sex<br />
education is part of the agreed curricular framework for Scottish schools<br />
and is part of each pupil’s educational entitlement.’<br />
Within the school, sex education will form part of the curriculum in<br />
personal and social education lessons in particular. Contributions to the<br />
wider aspects of sex education may also come from the curriculum in<br />
subjects such as science, religious and moral education, home economics,<br />
physical education and social subjects. The school nurse and other health<br />
professionals may also contribute to a programme of sex education within<br />
the school.<br />
We will keep you informed about the general content of our sex education<br />
programme through the course information booklets distributed at various<br />
stages in your son or daughter’s school career and through information that<br />
will be available at certain parents’ evenings. Information leaflets or letters<br />
about specific aspects of the sex education curriculum will be distributed<br />
when necessary.<br />

21. SCHOOL CHAPLAINS<br />
We are very fortunate at <strong>Meldrum</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> to have the support of a team<br />
of respected School Chaplains. They are: Rev. Matt Canliss, Rev. Mary M<br />
Cranfield, Father Gabor and Rev. Regine Cheyne. The Chaplains play an<br />
important and active role in the life of the school. They manage assemblies<br />
once a month and they are available to speak to pupils and staff informally.<br />
Chaplains also take part in a number of school-based activities and make a<br />
