Who should not read this book?<br />

As mentioned earlier, the purpose of this book is <strong>to</strong> provide the reader with a high -level<br />

overview of the capabilities and features associated with <strong>HL7v3</strong>. This book is not<br />

intended <strong>to</strong> be a step-by-step comprehensive guide or substitute of any kind <strong>to</strong> original<br />

training and certification programs provided by Health Level Seven International, its<br />

affiliates and numerous local providers.<br />

This book is also not a complete tu<strong>to</strong>rial on a specific domain messaging or middleware<br />

technology implementation. All examples, scenarios, scripts and source codes included in<br />

this book are for illustrative purposes only. If you are interested in learning more about a<br />

specific technology or product, please refer <strong>to</strong> Health Level Seven International website<br />

as a primary source of knowledge.<br />

This book does not cover any specific system architecture, programming language,<br />

development frameworks or <strong>to</strong>ols <strong>to</strong> build a domain specific <strong>HL7v3</strong> based healthcare<br />

system. However, it provides references <strong>to</strong> some of them which you may explore further.<br />
