has announced
the future release of
the Adamas Series,
dedicated to the Army
Rangers. A portion of proceeds from
Pat Covert
gunner, “I am thrilled a company
the sales will benefit the special operations
group’s Ranger Assistance Fund
(RAF). The knives were designed in
conjunction with Major Jeff Struecker,
who was a squad leader in 1993 during
The Battle of Mogadishu, most commonly
referred to as Blackhawk Down.
Jeff is also an Army Chaplain.
Struecker served in the armed forces
from 1987 to 2011, mostly in the 75th
Ranger Regiment. He is a much decorated
war veteran who served in
many conflicts abroad including
(in addition to the Mogadishu
firefight) Operation Just
Cause in Panama, Operation
Desert Storm in Iraq
and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He was also winner of the 1996 Best
Ranger Competition.
The first two knives in the series will
be a tactical folder and a fixed blade. The
Model 275 folder features Benchmade’s
patented AXIS locking mechanism, a
D2 steel drop-point blade and desert
tan machined G10 handles. D2 steel is
easy to sharpen in the field and is a timeproven,
excellent cutting steel with good
edge retention. The handle is ample in
tility in the field. The
375 model comes with a
MOLLE-compatible injected
molded sheath with a secondary
locking strap, making it jump-rated.
The Project
Asked how the Adamas project came
about, Benchmade’s Director of Marketing
Rob Morrison tells American
Handgunner, “Major Jeff Struecker
has been a fan of Benchmade products
for several years and never deployed
without them. With two Army Rangers
on our Military sales staff — who
served with Struecker — we were introduced
at the Best Ranger Competition
in 2007. Major Struecker asked if we
like Benchmade would be
willing to support the Ranger Assistance
Foundation. This organization
provides assistance for the family
and friends of the men killed or
wounded in action from the US
Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment.
Look at the most daring missions in
almost any war in our nation’s history,
and you will find Rangers in the thick
of the action.”
375 Fixed Blade
The 375 Adamas fixed blade is
another ideal tool for tactical or
survival situations. The full-tang
D2 steel blade is skeletonized, and
includes an optional paracord wrap
for the handle. The drop-point blade
style with serrations on the spine,
makes this blade a versatile tool for
work in the field. The fixed blade
comes with a MOLLE-compatible
injected molded sheath with a secondary
locking strap, making it jumprated
like the others.
We’d like to thank the folks at
