Brake Hose Conditions – Internal Hose Problem The internal part of a brake hose can break down causing a small part of the liner to act as a one way check valve. The condition will allow brake fluid to flow into the caliper but prevent it from returning back to the master cylinder when the brake pedal is released. Open connection between flexible brake hose and fixed line. - Does the wheel now rotate? • If yes, hose does not have an internal blockage. • If no, Open bleeder valve. • If wheel now rotates hose is restricting the return of fluid after brake application. ©
Brake Hose Conditions – Internal Hose Problem The right side of the hose is the pressure feed side. Pressure can flow to the wheel but after a brake application, the flapper will move down holding pressure in the hose and maintain pressure on the brake even after the brake pedal in the vehicle is released. ©
