<strong>Framework</strong> Structure<br />

The framework is structured as follows: ten themes are identified as<br />

fundamentally important. Four (Themes 5, 8, 9 & 10) are divided into<br />

sub-themes. These themes (1-10) and sub-themes, where applicable, are<br />

listed below in Table 1.<br />

The nature and scope of each theme within the <strong>Inclusive</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <strong>Framework</strong> is elaborated<br />

by a descriptive summary that outlines the goal to be achieved. Each theme has a list of five<br />

or six criteria that provide guidelines <strong>for</strong> or indicators of good practice. Exemplars of good<br />

practice are also provided <strong>for</strong> each theme in the <strong>for</strong>m of vignettes. These are illustrative only<br />

and their content does not cover all criteria under each theme.<br />

Criteria and Vignettes<br />

This section presents the <strong>Inclusive</strong> <strong>Education</strong> <strong>Framework</strong> in full, showing the ten themes, subthemes<br />

(where applicable), descriptions, criteria and vignettes. Useful references and further<br />

reading associated with each individual theme is provided in Appendix 2.<br />
