In Mark 14:50, it says <strong>the</strong> disciples foresook<br />
Jesus and f<strong>led</strong>. Ev<strong>en</strong> Peter foresook Jesus after <strong>the</strong><br />
cock crowed three ti<strong>me</strong>s as Jesus fore<strong>to</strong>ld:<br />
(Mat<strong>the</strong>w 26:75) And Peter re<strong>me</strong>mbered <strong>the</strong><br />
word of Jesus, which said un<strong>to</strong> him, "Before <strong>the</strong><br />
cock crow, thou shalt d<strong>en</strong>y <strong>me</strong> thrice. And he<br />
w<strong>en</strong>t out, and wept bitterly."<br />
The most likely persons whom may have<br />
witnessed this mom<strong>en</strong>t in Jesus' life were Mary<br />
Magdal<strong>en</strong>e, Mary <strong>the</strong> mo<strong>the</strong>r of Ja<strong>me</strong>s and Joses,<br />
<strong>the</strong> mo<strong>the</strong>r of Zebedee's childr<strong>en</strong>, and o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
wom<strong>en</strong> (Mat<strong>the</strong>w 27:55-56). However, <strong>the</strong>re is no<br />
statem<strong>en</strong>t or account in <strong>the</strong> Gospels from <strong>the</strong>se<br />
wom<strong>en</strong> as <strong>to</strong> what <strong>the</strong>y saw or heard.<br />
The disciple(s) found <strong>the</strong> sepulchre where Jesus<br />
was laid down, empty, and made <strong>the</strong> conclusion<br />
that he was resurrected because <strong>the</strong> disciples and<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r witnesses saw him alive after <strong>the</strong> alleged<br />
crucifixion. Nobody saw <strong>the</strong> mom<strong>en</strong>t he was<br />
resurrected. Jesus himself stated that he did not die<br />
on <strong>the</strong> cross in Luke 24:36-41, as explained in <strong>the</strong><br />
following paragraphs.
