Durga Puja 2011
Editorial
On behalf of the media and publication team, I would
like to welcome you all to the celebration of Durga puja
arranged by Sarbojanin Baba Lokenath Association UK
for the first time ever.
Durga Puja reminds us of the importance of unity. It is a
time when family members and friends come together. It
is a time to be with others. The message of Durga Puja is
universal - a commitment to social justice, compassion,
concern for the poor, and love of family and community.
The value of wisdom is highlighted during Durga Puja.
Wisdom teaches us tolerance and respect for all people
and reminds us of the need to strengthen bridges
between communities, especially amongst the religious
groups.
It is an immense accomplishment that we managed to
organise the Durga Puja here, thousands of miles away
from our motherland. We are definitely blessed by
Ma Durga. However, we should not forget our fellow
brothers and sisters back home, who are not in the same
position to celebrate this festivity due to the financial
constraints. Hopefully with our help, however small it
maybe, will make a difference to their lives.
We are very pleased and proud to be able to publish this
magazine successfully with the blessings of Ma Durga.
All credit goes to the devotees, who have continuously
supported us with their thoughts and constructive
ideas. I would personally like to thank all members of the
executive committee and every member of the media
and publication team for their support, and hard work
and without their help, none of this would be possible.
