IPMS - <strong>Integrated</strong> <strong>Platform</strong> <strong>Management</strong> <strong>System</strong><br />
The Danish Flexible Support Vessel is equipped with an<br />
<strong>Integrated</strong> <strong>Platform</strong> <strong>Management</strong> <strong>System</strong> developed by<br />
Rockwell Automation (DK) and <strong>Logimatic</strong> Engineering<br />
in a joint cooperation. The IPMS is a common<br />
computer based platform integrating the following<br />
applications:<br />
• Power management<br />
• Propulsion control<br />
• Ship systems automation<br />
• Ship systems remote monitoring and control<br />
• Alarm system including Extension Alarm Panels<br />
• Damage management<br />
• Conning displays<br />
• Loading and Stability Computer<br />
• CCTV camera system<br />
Main Engine Lubrication Oil <strong>System</strong>.<br />
The system consists of a number of processing units<br />
(PLCs) distributed around the ship, and a number of<br />
operator stations located in the Engine Control Room<br />
and on the Bridge. All operator stations can display<br />
any picture, so the ship platform can be controlled<br />
completely either from ECR or the Bridge.<br />
Additional data network plugs enables connection<br />
of portable PCs for diagnostic purposes and<br />
manning of local damage control stations.<br />
More than 100 mimic displays are developed,<br />
based on a standard windows graphical user<br />
interface where data are displayed and<br />
controllable components can be manipulated<br />
via pop-up faceplates. The mimics are designed<br />
in accordance with the system diagrams and<br />
show outlines of essential machinery details<br />
to facilitate seamless operation of the system.<br />
