The programme<br />

DAY 1: Arrival in the Langhe Wine Region<br />

Arrival and check-in in the 3* Sup Corte Gondina in La Morra, quite close to Barolo.<br />

Time permitting, explore the region, and finish the day with a dinner in a typical trattoria<br />

with spectacular views over the vineyards.<br />

DAY 2: The vineyards and Alba<br />

In the morning drive to Barolo, a pretty town where the famous Barolo wine was born. Explore the town on your own<br />

(we suggest the interactive WiMu Wine Museum, situated in the heart of the town). Afterwards, you will visit an<br />

excellent wine cellar to taste the wines. Free time for lunch. Then reach Grinzane Cavour castle to admire some<br />

beautiful views (the Count Camillo Benso Cavour was actually the owner of the fortification (the museum can be<br />

visited).<br />

Afterwards, departure to Alba, the town of the “hundred towers”, to have a stroll through the picturesque old town, home<br />

of the International Truffle Fair. Dinner on a Slow Food restaurant in Pollenzo, where the “Università di Scienze Gastonomiche”<br />

is located. Taste the authentic cuisine, prepared with the fresh ingredients of the season.<br />

DAY 3: Asti, Canelli und die unterirsichen Kathedralen<br />

Today visit the Monferrato Wine Region, and in particular – the Canelli underground cathedrals (on Unesco list since 2014),<br />

where the Italian sparkling wine was born. See the labyrinth of the passageways where Asti Spumante is kept, under the streets<br />

of Canelli! Of course, finish the visit with a wine tasting.<br />

Lunch in a local winery (so-called enoteca). In the afternoon visit the fascinating Asti, rich in cultural heritage. Admire the<br />

cathedral, one of the most important gothic churches in the region. Free dinner today, to choose one of the many local<br />

restaurants.<br />

DAY 4: Where Dolcetto comes from<br />

Alta Langa (the northern part of the Langhe) is the destination of the day – this is where the red wine dolcetto comes from. The<br />

tour begins with a visit of an excellent wine cellar – Podere Enaudi in Dogliani (taste the wine).<br />

Proceed to Murazzano to admire the view from the square tower, located on a hill (739 m). You can also reach the villages<br />

Bossolasco and Cissone. Free lunch. In the afternoon, a highly suggested landmark is the Vicoforte Sanctuary, a triumph of<br />

architecture thanks to its enormous elliptical cupola, one of the largest of the kind. Free lunch.<br />

DAY 5: Breakfast and departure<br />

- Dinner in a typical trattoria in the Langhe region (taste various local dishes)<br />

- Wine tasting in a cellar in Barolo<br />

- Dinner with slow food products<br />

- Visit of a wine cellar in Dogliani and wine tasting<br />
