Off-base driver training The off-base driver training formerly held in the Coalition Compound theater every Tuesday at 4 p.m. will now be held in the BPC theater. Contact the Force Protection office with any questions at 437-2635. Live Music with King Cone Texas-born King Cone and The Tailgate Philharmonic will perform Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Memorial Plaza. The group is a rowdy blend of outlaw country and classic rock with the soul of rhythm and blues, this group is electric on stage. Having opened for such greats as Alabama, Willie Nelson and Jerry Jeff Walker, King and The Tailgate Philharmonic are no strangers to bringing the fun in massive proportions. EagleCash mandatory All deployed personnel (military, civilian and contractors) using Air Force finance office check cashing services are required to have the EagleCash Stored Value Card and are highly encouraged to use it. With kiosks and points of sale readily available throughout the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility, finance is no longer the only location where individuals must go to access their personal funds to meet their financial needs. EagleCash is simple to use and easy to obtain; visit finance today. Women’s Sufferage The Women’s Suffrage Committee is looking for volunteers to fill an all female flight to participate in the Women’s Suffrage Month retreat ceremony Aug. 26. New Ops Town bus route In order to provide shuttle transportation to the growing population on the Northeast Ramp, the Ops Town shuttle bus route has changed. Buses will continue to arrive every 15 minutes at each stop. The length of time passengers spend on the bus will not be severely impacted. The new route and schedule are posted on the base intranet web page. Emergency leave clothing drive Personnel Support for Contingency Operations is requesting clean/serviceable civilian clothing for our Emergency Leave program. We have the busiest E-Lv program in the Air Force, processing hundreds of personnel every cycle. Our customers are from all services, returning from combat and don’t have access to civilian clothes. A substantial amount of E-Lv personnel fly out of Doha International Airport, which does not allow departing in military uniform. He is looking to begin this upper-level Sociology class the first week of September through mid-October. This course is great for security forces, all supervisors, and anyone else who may deal with “law-breakers.” MRKT310 Marketing Principles and Organization: With a local instructor, we’re looking to offer this upper-level class. Start date is the last week of September and it runs through mid-November. If you are a business, marketing, or management major then this is the course for you. If you need upper-level credit (for UMUC or any University/College), contact UMUC as soon as possible. We’ll only be able to run these classes if we have enough interest and students.
