Pre-season is always a challenge in a football club whether
you are a player, coach or administrator. This year it has
been a little more challenging than
normal, but I believe we have come
out stronger - on and off the field.
Areas we looked to improve on
over pre-season were fitness and
strength, tackling, forward entry and
the way we use our small forwards.
We have adjusted a few structures but we continue to move
in a direction that I believe leaves us in a strong position for
long-term success.
The depth of our group is by far the best it has been since I
started working here in 2009; at times the biggest challenge
may be getting all the players that we want into a team
at Norwood. That’s something I am sure every Norwood
Expect to see a committed, strong and
passionate Norwood again this year.
supporter will be willing to give me plenty of advice about!
The start of the season is certainly a tough one with our
first three games against Centrals,
the Eagles and Port. Centrals and the
Eagles I expect to be strong again this
season, while I would be tipping Port to
be the big improvers of the competition.
Expect to see a committed, strong
and passionate Norwood again this
year. After the disappointment of the way 2011 finished, I
am confident we have done the work required over the preseason
to improve our group to challenge for a premiership.
Make sure you are a part of our journey and I am looking
forward to seeing big crowds at Coopers Stadium, as well
as large contingents of Norwood supporters at every away
game. The players and coaches certainly appreciate it.
