New John Deere 5G
Series Tractors for 2015
John Deere’s latest 5G Series tractor line-up includes
four model ranges featuring 3.2 and 4.5-litre Stage IIIA
engines with a rated power of 75, 85 or 100hp (97/68/EC),
plus a choice of two- or four-wheel drive.
This new series has been specifically
designed to provide high levels
of comfort, power,
hydraulic performance
and manoeuvrability to
customers who require a
versatile utility tractor with
compact dimensions and a
narrow tread width.
The 5GF, 5GN and 5GV Series tractors offer customers an
open operator station or a redesigned cab, plus a wide range of
transmission, PTO and hydraulic options, from entry level to
premium alternatives. These include:
• two-wheel drive 12F/12R speed transmission up to a fourwheel
drive 24F/12R PowrReverser transmission;
• 540/540E PTO, or a 540/1000 PTO including ground drive;
• twin pump hydraulic system with two mechanical SCVs,
or a triple pump system with four electro-hydraulic SCVs
including seven mid-mounted couplers.
The open centre hydraulic system supplies up to 122.5 litres/
min hydraulic flow when equipped with three pumps. A joystick
provides fingertip control of implements when using the
electro-hydraulic SCV option.
The tractors’ three-point hitch has a maximum lift capacity
of 2590kg as standard, or with additional lift cylinders this can
be increased to 3100kg. New push-button controls allow the
hitch to be steered hydraulically from side to side, making it
easier to operate rear-mounted implements in confined spaces.
In addition, the operator can manually adjust the implement to
keep it level to the ground, particularly when working on slopes.
Completing the new John Deere line-up of speciality tractors
for 2015, the low-profile 5GL Series 75 and 85hp four-wheel
drive models feature an open operator station and a 24F/24R
Sync Reverser mechanical Hi-Lo transmission.
ATTs INFiNiSystem
New 30” Model
To cater for the needs of the Groundsman ATT has
developed a 30” version of its popular INFiNiSystem.
This new model follows on the heels of last year’s
launch of a 26” version, up from the 22” launch model.
The new 30”
INFiNiSystem
boasts the same
unique floating head
mechanism that is
independent of the
traction drive, ensuring
ground pressure is spread
between three rollers, as
opposed to two as seen
on fixed head units. This
is hugely beneficial as it helps to regulate weight transfer and
minimise plant stress during routine cutting operations. The
new 30” INFiNiSystem can be driven either fully electrically
via a single or double battery module or by hybrid electric via
an engine generator configuration. The added width means
the unit offers increased productivity and is especially well
suited to larger areas such as football and rugby pitches. The
decreased ground pressure is particularly beneficial where
maintaining synthetic fibre integrity is paramount such as on
DESSO GrassMaster® Hybrid systems.
Users also benefit from the accuracy and cleanliness of cut
from the ATT 30” SMARTCut. The simplicity with which
both the cassette carrier chassis and the SMARTCut cassette
can be adjusted permits alteration of the behind Centre
distance and the attitude angle of the bedknife. The 30”
also features an electronically adjustable clip rate, optional
groomer and optional front roller configurations to augment
further the Groundsman’s ability to set the unit up with a “no
compromise” approach.
Not just a mower though, this new 30” is able to
accommodate different cassettes from the TMSystem range
to perform other essential agronomic practices required to
maintain sports turf in top condition.
Campey’s New Raycam
Fertilizer Spreader
Every, groundsman and greenkeeper needs a granular
fertiliser/seed/sand spreader and Campey Turf Care Systems
have recently launched the new Raycam Fertiliser Spreader.
It is quick, economic and easy to operate, with an option
of 500lt or 600lt hopper capacity. The expansive spreading
width is from 1m to 14 metres.
Raycam Fertiliser Spreaders are 3pt linkage mounted, PTO
driven and known as Pendulum “Wagtail” spreaders. They
are designed to distribute granular fertilizer and seed with
precision, so eliminating unnecessary waste.
The steel construction with pressed polyester hoppers provide
the durability and strength for a machine which is in constant
