Time to Pay arrangements<br />

Application process<br />

An application for Time to Pay must be completed on <strong>the</strong> prescribed<br />

form (IF091) prior to enrolment. This form is available from any BNIT<br />

Customer Service Centre. Enrolment cannot occur unless <strong>the</strong> Time<br />

issued at <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> enrolment. Payments must be made by <strong>the</strong><br />

due date.<br />

to Pay arrangements, two alternative payment options exist. Due to<br />

legal requirements both are available only as part <strong>of</strong> counter-based<br />

(face-to-face) enrolment processing. Please check with Customer<br />

Direct Debit – this option allows instalment payments to be<br />

transferred directly as per <strong>the</strong> agreed schedule. This will require<br />

<strong>the</strong> completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>TAFE</strong> Queensland Direct Request Form which<br />

<strong>the</strong> account holder must sign.<br />

Centrepay – this option is available only to <strong>student</strong>’s receiving<br />

<br />

Centrepay deductions form.<br />

These forms are completed in addition to <strong>the</strong> Time to Pay application<br />

itself and relate only to <strong>the</strong> method <strong>of</strong> payment.<br />

Cancellation <strong>of</strong> enrolment does not necessarily cancel <strong>the</strong> obligation<br />

to make all payments under an existing Time to Pay plan.<br />

Approval<br />

The criteria for a standard Time to Pay arrangement are:<br />

<strong>the</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment meets minimum requirements<br />

<br />

<strong>student</strong>s under 18 years <strong>of</strong> age must have a parent/guardian<br />

complete <strong>the</strong> Guarantor Declaration<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>student</strong> does not have a written-<strong>of</strong>f debt with <strong>TAFE</strong><br />

Queensland<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>student</strong> does not have previous Time to Pay instalments<br />

currently outstanding<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>student</strong> is able to pay a minimum deposit.<br />

Time to Pay can be <strong>of</strong>fered on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly<br />

<br />

to Pay plan shall be completed at least 30 days prior to <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>student</strong>’s program <strong>of</strong> study for which a Time to Pay plan has<br />

been provided. Students unsure <strong>of</strong> which Time to Pay category <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

<br />

consultant prior to enrolment.<br />

Government funded programs<br />

Time to Pay can be <strong>of</strong>fered where <strong>the</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment is<br />

greater than $75. A minimum deposit for government funded Time<br />

to Pay is:<br />

30% <strong>of</strong> <strong>student</strong> contribution fee and embedded materials fees<br />

<br />

<br />

$40 annual admin and utility fee<br />

100% <strong>of</strong> all o<strong>the</strong>r fees, including excursions, textbooks and<br />

resources.<br />

Leveraged programs<br />

Time to Pay can be <strong>of</strong>fered where <strong>the</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment is<br />

greater than $500 and <strong>the</strong> relevant Education Business Manager<br />

approves such arrangements. The minimum deposit includes:<br />

30% <strong>of</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment including materials<br />

$40 annual admin and utility fee<br />

100% <strong>of</strong> all o<strong>the</strong>r fees, including excursions, textbooks and<br />

resources.<br />

Fee for service programs<br />

Time to Pay can be <strong>of</strong>fered where <strong>the</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment is<br />

greater than $1000 and <strong>the</strong> relevant Education Business Manager<br />

approves such arrangements. The minimum deposit includes:<br />

30% <strong>of</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment including materials<br />

$40 annual admin and utility fee<br />

100% <strong>of</strong> all o<strong>the</strong>r fees, including excursions, textbooks and<br />

resources.<br />

Fee for service Time to Pay plans vary between programs and<br />

<strong>the</strong> actual Time to Pay requirements should be checked prior to<br />

enrolment by contacting one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Customer Service Centres.<br />

BNIT Open Learning programs<br />

Time to Pay can be <strong>of</strong>fered if <strong>the</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> enrolment is greater<br />

than $75 and may be applied over a three month period dependent<br />

on enrolled nominal hours. Nominal hours are indicated on <strong>the</strong><br />

Enrolment Selection Form against each unit.<br />
