While Disney Vacation Club Members will be able to call the Disneyland ® Resort “home”
with the expansion of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel ® & Spa, they won’t be the first to
do so. Walt Disney maintained a small Main Street, U.S.A. ® apartment (pictured on page
21 of this magazine) inside Disneyland Park, and he had grand plans to move into a larger
home, pictured in this rendering, above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Those
apartment plans, abandoned after Walt’s passing in 1966, are back as part of The Year of a
Million Dreams. Beginning Jan. 31, 2008, and continuing nearly every night throughout
the year, one lucky Guest family will be chosen randomly for an overnight stay in the New
Orleans Square ® apartment, now under construction. Learn more about the extended
celebration online at www.disneyparks.com.
