Williams won the Miss New<br />

York crown in 1963 and went<br />

to compete for Miss Amrica at<br />

the national pagent in Alantic<br />

City. Williams was crowned<br />

Miss America on September<br />

17, 1963 making her the first<br />

African American to hold the<br />

title.<br />

players, Venus and Serena<br />

Williams were introuduced to the<br />

sport by their father who reconized<br />

their talent early on. Serena<br />

turned prfession in 1995, just<br />

producer, Denzel Washington<br />

recieved two Academy<br />

Awards, two Golden<br />

Globe Awards, and a Tony<br />

award.<br />

Served as President of South<br />

Africa from 1994-1999. He<br />

was the first President to be<br />

fully electd in a fully democratic<br />

election.<br />

Born to Jamaican immigrants,<br />

Colin was am American statesman<br />

and a retired four-star general<br />

in the United States army.<br />

He was the 65th United States<br />

Secretary of State being the first<br />

African American to serve the<br />

Those were highlights of a career<br />

that earned Ali the status of world<br />
