Diane Von Furstenburg – In the 1970’s she landed on the <strong>fashion</strong> scene with a simple mantra “Feel like a woman – Wear a dress”. She<br />
was counted as an icon for liberated women, and as influential a designer as Coco Chanel.<br />
Burberry – British <strong>fashion</strong> house Burberry is famous for their clean lines and simple styles, as well as their signature pieces, the trench<br />
coat and the Burberry Check, as well as their traditional colors. In the 1850’s Thomas Burberry began creating what became known as<br />
one of the world’s most recognizable brands, from his first store in London.<br />
Louis Vuitton – As one of the oldest <strong>fashion</strong> houses in the world, Louis Vuitton’s leather goods have become a status symbol, and<br />
highly respected around the globe. As a result of this, it has also become one of the most imitated brands, inspiring fakes for those with<br />
an eye, but not the budget, for their signature style.<br />
Hermes – Legendary accessories house Hermes began as a saddle-maker in the 1800’s and now specializes in leather goods and<br />
ready-to-wear couture. The company is respected in the <strong>fashion</strong> world for its luxurious products, famous for their workmanship, quality<br />
and high price.<br />
Donna Karan – Creating some of the most iconic <strong>fashion</strong> to come out of the 1980’s, Donna Karan is one of the world’s most<br />
recognizable brands, DKNY – which stands for Donna Karan New York. The label blended sports wear with everyday wear, making<br />
clothes that were simple, stylish and comfortable.<br />

Jean Paul Gaultier | Betsey Johnson | Vivienne Westwood | Christian LaCroix | Viktor and Rolf<br />
Jean Paul Gaultier – Known as the bad boy of <strong>fashion</strong>, Gaultier’s fresh take on women’s and men’s ready-to-wear clothes has made<br />
him one of the most sought after designers of today. His collections are extraordinary, and lively.<br />
Betsey Johnson – Flamboyant American designer Betsey Johnson is as, if not more, original as her designs! She is known for her<br />
eccentric, over-the-top, yet feminine creations, sometimes more suited to the stage than the street!<br />
Vivienne Westwood – Starting out as the Queen of Punk with her former partner in the 1970’s, Westwood has dressed the Sex Pistols,<br />
as well as anyone else who felt particularly rebellious. The British designer is responsible for popularizing punk and new wave into<br />
modern day <strong>fashion</strong>.<br />
Christian LaCroix – Making headlines with his luxurious and imaginative creations, is influential, high end French <strong>fashion</strong> designer,<br />
Christian LaCroix. He found his love of theatre and <strong>fashion</strong> at a young age, and studied dress in 18 th Century paintings, from which he<br />
draws his inspiration.<br />
Viktor and Rolf – Through exhibitions and haute couture shows, Viktor and Rolf have achieved <strong>international</strong> acclaim as one of <strong>fashion</strong>’s<br />
most innovative labels. The duo – both born in the Netherlands - met while at design school; and are today considered one of the<br />
hottest design teams in haute couture.
