You will be alert instead of asleep--INFoRMED about this big world in which you live-NOT just your private part of it, but all of it! Many wiiJ be persecl~ted, to be surebut Christ said for RIGHTEOUSNESS sake, 1J.ot because they appear as a mentally ill person, all warped, twisted in their thinking, and weird in their actions! God said, "For God is NOT the author of CONFUSION, but of PEACE, as in all churches of rhe sainrs" (I COL 14:33). God's mind is a BALANCED mind-an ORDERLY mind-a RIGHT mind! His mind IN YOU (Phil. 2:5) will mean YOtt will have a balanced, orderly, SOUND mind! God knows NO FEAR! Do you? Do you have frustrations, fears and worries? Wby DOt let GOD solve them for you? He inspired John to say, ''There is no fear in love, but perfect love CASTS OUT fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love" (I John 4: 18). Think of it! Your Maker says you need have no more FEARS, no more wor·ries, no more tensions and anxieties! He says He can HEAL you of any PHYSI CAL problems, and that He can give you a SOUND AND BALANCED MINO! He promises not only life-abmldant life for ALL ETERNITy-bur a full, joyful, balanced and normal life, right HERE and NOW! Are you willing to follow His commands-and FIND that way? Dillon, as prospective President of the Col1ege, when the conviction to found the college was first conceived. At first mencion, he had only laughed. "Me become Presidem of a Bible College?" he had exclaimed. "Why, I know almost nothing abom the Bible. That would be OUt of my field." Bur I had hastened to explain that Ambassador was not to be a "Bible College," but a straight co-educational LIBERAL ARTS insricucion. "Do you think I could reach rhe rheological classes?" I had asked. "Why, I think you know more about the Bible than anyone living," he replied. When I explained that rhere would be a course in theology, along with other usual Liberal Arcs courses, and that I would personally teach the Bible classes, the whole idea began co make sense to Walter. "You see," I explained, "you are an educator-I am nor. You've devOted your life to education. Ambassador, I said with emphasis, was n.ot to be a rubber stamp. I felt colleges had fallen into a dangerous drift of materialism. He agreed. I felt that mass-production, assembly-line education in universities of five co forry thousand students resulted in loss of personality development and much that is vital in student training. To this he also agreed. Tbe Foundational Philosophy I explained how the Bible is, actually, the divine Maker's instruction-book He has sem along with His product-the human individual. It reveals the PUR POSE of life-the purpose for which rhe human mind and body was designed and brought into being-the directions for operating this human mechanism so that it will perform as it was designed to do. and fulfill its intended purpose, reaching its intended goal. In other words, that the Bible is the vecy FOUNDATION of all knowledge (he basic concept as an APPROACH to the acquisidon of ALL KNOWlEDGEwhether academic, sciemific, historic, philosophical or otherwise. Therefore, it must be the BASIS for all academic courses. The Bible does nOt contain all knowledge-it is the ,oulldation of all knowledge. It is the starting point in man's quelt fot knowledge. God provided man with (he FOUNDATION for his structure of knowledge, and equipped man co BUILD on that foundation. The Bible, alone of all books or sources of knowing, reveals basic PUR POSES. It atone reveals the inexorable, yet invisible LAWS that regulate cause and effect, action and reaction-chat govern all relationships-that produce happiness, peace, well-being, prosperiry. The Bible is a guide-Book of viral principles, to be applied to circumstances, conditions, and problems. God has equipped man wirh eyes with which co see; ears with which ro hear; hands with which to work; minds with which to reason, think, plan, design, make decisions, and will ro act on those decisions. Man has capacity CO explore, investigate, observe, measure. God enabled man to invent telescopes, microscopes, rest-rubes and laborarories. Man, of himself, is enabled (0 acquire much knowledge. But wirhout rhe BASIC knowledge-that FOUNDATION of all
