Semester 1 [September - December]Electronic Business Models and Systems - Examines the emergence of electronic commerce and the role ofbusiness models in enabling it.Database Analysis and Design - Explains the concepts and skills required to analyse organisational activities andto create the data models and database systems required to support these activities.Business Analysis Requirements, Skills and Techniques - Illustrates present-day IS development as an agile‘rapid response’ process that aligns the information systems of a firm with its business goals in close to real time.Storage Technology - Provides students with a thorough understanding of leading edge storage technology.Optimising the Business Value of IT - Explores the issues concerned with ensuring business value and continuityof the service offered to firms by information systems.IS for Organisational Performance - Introduces information systems that are used in evidence-basedperformance management and related organisational decision making.Professional Practice Skills - Develops students’ professional skills: effective presentation, businesscommunication and report writing, and leveraging social media for professional use.Semester 2 [January - May]Business Models for Disruptive Technology - Examines emerging technology trends and newer types ofbusiness models.Databases for Management Information Systems - Explains how to create database structures and developbusiness reports that support management decision making.Application Design - Illustrates how applications are designed from both a visual and a technical standpoint.IT Sourcing and Projects - Clarifies the role of the IS/IT function in a modern organisation and critiques variousapproaches to sourcing IS/IT solutions.IT Governance and Compliance - Highlights the centrality of IT governance in modern organisations andconsiders frameworks that can be used to address issues around IT governance and IS/IT investments.Leveraging IT Seminar Series - Explores current IT issues impacting contemporary businesses.Enterprise Business Intelligence - Examines the techniques, technologies and systems that are designed toenable efficient manipulation of enterprise data sets and to support the effective management of the data lifecycle.Semester 3 [June - August]Collaborative Industry Research Project - Provides students with a practical understanding and experience ofundertaking a research project in a business context.
