<strong>Audi</strong> side assist including <strong>Audi</strong> pre sense rear*: Displays are<br />
integrated into the exterior mirrors. Operational from a vehicle<br />
speed of 30 km/h, <strong>Audi</strong> side assist uses 2 radar sensors (with<br />
a range of approx. 70 m) to measure the vehicle’s distance from<br />
other detected vehicles, as well as the speed difference between<br />
them. If <strong>Audi</strong> side assist classifies the speed difference and distance<br />
as being critical in the event of a lane change manoeuvre, a display<br />
will appear in the respective exterior mirror (information stage).<br />
This display will only be noticed by looking at the exterior mirrors.<br />
When the indicator is activated and <strong>Audi</strong> side assist detects a vehicle<br />
approaching and rates the situation as critical, the relevant display<br />
on the exterior mirror flashes repeatedly (warning stage). The<br />
brightness of the display can be set to 1 of 5 levels in the MMI®.<br />
Please note: The systems can only work within system limits. They can be of assistance,<br />
but drivers are still required to be attentive at all times.<br />
