Connecting rods support the primary tension loadscaused by engine operation in each revolution or cycle of the crankshaft. Every rodis fully CNC machined to remove all surface imperfections,100% magnaflux inspected, checked for hardness and thenmachined to finalize the exact tolerance within 0.0001" of aninch. Each set of rods is fully balanced and then shot peenedto achieve the ultimate in strength and reliability. Choosefrom premium H-11 tool steel rod bolts or available as anupgrade, AMS5844 bolts.An assortment of computerdesigned beams are availablefor different horsepower andweight requirements.Crower’s RBT beam featuresa radius beam design forthe utmost in strengthcapabilities while reducingoverall weight of the rod forimproved throttle response.Drilled and chamferedpin oil hole onCrowerods providesadditional oil at pin endto prevent galling.Available in aluminum/bronze bushed orpressed fit pin.Pin boss dynamicsare critical whendesigning a highperformanceconnecting rod. Tomaintain troublefreeoperation,Crower beefs up thepin eye area.CROWER H-BEAM DESIGNHollow dowel alignmentfastening system providespositive cap alignment and“no hassle” removal.Integrally threaded beamcan be made to acceptbolt diameters of 5⁄16, 3⁄8and 7⁄16.Deep, double-ribbedcap guaranteessuperior strengthand reliability at highengine rpm.Only Crower offers you, the engine builder,the choice of “I-Beam or H-Beam” design.AMS5844 ROD BOLT UPGRADECrower’s AMS5844 rod bolt upgrade isavailable for all steel billet and titaniumrods. Highly recommended for extremeduty rpm and endurance applications.Rated at 280,000 p.s.i., these bolts arecorrosion resistant, nonmagnetic anddeliver ultimate clamping capabilitiesfor the highest cycle life. Specify desiredrod bolt when ordering.Proper bolt torque: Torque rodbolts to 10 ft lbs on both sides, thentorque to proper spec with one pull.Extremely reliable H-11tool steel bolts, rated at220,000 p.s.i. or aircraftquality, AMS5844 alloybolts that are corrosionresistant and rated at280,000 p.s.i. Both feature12-point heads.MAXI-LIGHT DESIGNCROWER “H-BEAM” CONNECTING RODSAlthough Crower is known mostly for it’s “I-Beam” rods, we also build a varietyof European influenced “H-Beam” designs as well. The thicker cross sectionsof the H-Beam are better suited for the EDM oil hole that runs the length ofthe beam delivering added oil to the pin.
