etween the couples. <strong>The</strong> Best of the Best Ceremonywas short but nice <strong>and</strong> the MC for the event was veryentertaining. Following the ceremony we attended thesmall reception including appetizers which was also anice gesture.I started Thursday, October 18 off by attending theLRS: Leisure Behavior II session <strong>and</strong> learned aboutresearch related to gambling <strong>and</strong> dog parks, both werevery interesting studies <strong>and</strong> brought up interestingpoints I had not thought about, especially the researchabout dog parks related to citizens taking ownershipof a space that had previously been seen as a nuisancebefore it was a dog park, then citizens fighting overpark space for pets verses kids. After lunch I attendedthe National Forum Meeting. This was my first timeat this meeting. This meeting provides an opportunityfor other leaders with in each network to share whatis currently going on in the network. So it is an eyeopening learning experience to hear about eachnetwork. This meeting also focused on some of theissues with NRPA connects so the board memberscould start to make it more user-friendly. In the endthe meeting ended with a board member starting asmall committee to try to resolve some of the issueswith access to NRPA connect <strong>and</strong> Mary stating shewould make a few webinars <strong>and</strong> possibly a Youtubevideo on how to best utilize NRPA connect to sharewith members in hopes to get more people utilizingthis resource. In the evening, I attended the <strong>Young</strong><strong>Professional</strong>s Social at a local bar.
