Step 1C<strong>on</strong>nect with Your Pastor• Interview your pastor, sharing yourvisi<strong>on</strong> for men’s ministry with him.• Ask your pastor to send a “call toacti<strong>on</strong>” letter to the men in thechurch.• Be prepared in advance torecommend the first ministry acti<strong>on</strong>step.
Step 2Be Prayer-Driven• Form a weekly men’s prayer groupwith pastor(s), leaders, other men.• Pay close attenti<strong>on</strong> to what Godreveals to you about the needs ofmen through prayer
Step 3Discover Called Leaders• Follow Jesus’ example: Pray them out• Start small, go slow, think l<strong>on</strong>g term• Communicate the visi<strong>on</strong> to them
Step 4Define Your Missi<strong>on</strong>• H<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> pick men to help write abiblically-based Purpose Statement• Organize around your purposes <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>the 4 ministry cornerst<strong>on</strong>es
Step 5Focus <strong>on</strong> the Target• C<strong>on</strong>duct a needs <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> ministry interestsurvey• Join God where He is at work inmen’s lives
Step 6Utilize What You Have• Build <strong>on</strong> pers<strong>on</strong>al relati<strong>on</strong>ships,rather than program• Make a list of everything youcurrently offer to men• Work through existing groups,establish additi<strong>on</strong>al small groups
