Similar to administrative data files, grantees may produce more thanone file that include data from different surveys (see Chapter 1 forrecommendations for when this is appropriate). Where grantees haveengaged in distinct survey efforts, such as those with differentpopulation groups, survey questionnaires, or survey methodology, aseparate set of documentation should be created for each file.To the extent that the surveys are similar in scope and approach,grantees may produce a single set of file documentation thatincludes the narrative, technical and programming information, andother information useful to researchers.
