JCCSI was awarded October 1,2007, a grant fromSAMHSA/CSAT in the amount of$400,000 a year for 5 years.Sybil Ward and Dr. Angela Smithserve as Project Director andEvaluator – respectively. Stepone included the acquisition andinstallation of office space,furnishings and equipment.Hiring staff was the mostimportant step. All staff had tobe knowledgeable, reflective ofthe target population, clean andsober, and dedicated. The resultis a skilled, motivated, culturallyand socioeconomically diverse,yet unified team. Thiscomponent of the project isextremely successful.
