(EPI) In Afghanistan

Goal:The goal of EPI is to reduce morbidity and mortality due to vaccinepreventable diseases among the target population.Objectives:To achieve and sustain 90% coverage of childhood immunizationof all antigens among under one years old children by the end of2015.To achieve and maintain 80% coverage of TT2+ among pregnantand 75 among women of childbearing age (15-49 years), eliminatetetanus in line with global goal by the end of 2015.To interrupt poliovirus transmission by end of 2015 and sustain tillglobal certification is achieved.To reduce measles morbidity rate by 90% from the preimmunizationlevel (base line data from 2001) by end of 2015..To improve injection safety and provide 100% safe immunizationinjections.Ministry ofPublic Health, Afghanistan
