PPE PlusPPE is one of the most successfuland popular degree courses, inwhich undergraduates read aspectsof Philosophy, Politics andEconomics.We have grouped some of our mostsuccessful subjects together in orderto create a PPE Plus route.This involves students opting forthree or four of the following:• English Literature• History• Government & Politics• Theology• Sociology• EconomicsThese subjects lead perfectly intodegrees in economics, socialsciences, international relations,politics, english and philosophy. OurCatholic Ethos encourages studentsto develop their critical thinking skillsand develop a deep sense ofempathy to see other’s points ofview. Students opting for the PPEPlus route will be given additionalstudy materials as well asmembership to the debating club.These are the subjects with the bestresults at St Bonaventure's and PPEis the course that produces moreworld leaders than any other.Excellence PlusIn September of Year 12, the top 10Gifted and Talented students (basedon GCSE points score) are enrolledonto the Excellence Plus Programme.The aims of the programme are to:• Provide university style tutorials• Enable access to the mostselective universities• Guide the transition fromoutstanding GCSE success to ALevel excellenceThe Excellence Plus Programmeincludes:• Excellence Plus entry pack• A subject bursary (to be spent infurthering your knowledge andexperience of your chosensubject)• An allocated mentor• Meetings with the Headteacher• An Oxbridge visit• Degree student talks andmentoringIn January, following the formalmock exam period all students willbe eligible to apply for theExcellence Plus Programme inFebruary. This will provide:• A university support bursary foreach student to facilitate visitsoutside of London• Participation in The Brilliant Club• Work with a Russell GroupUniversity in the Summer Term.8 9
