2TI 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom Ihave believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him untilthat day.1PE 2:15 For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance offoolish men.1PE 3:17 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right ratherthan for doing what is wrong. Are you prepared to be hated because of your commitment to Jesus Christ? And so you can see that it is notstrange that we love the epistle of 1 Peter-a handbook for Christian persecution andmartyrdom." [John Piper, sermon]1PE 1:5-6 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to berevealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,41
