"I was always known as a bit of a rebel when I worked in the Thoroughbred industry,"<br />

she says. "I was constantly pushing for reforms, not only for the horses but for the<br />

stable lads and lasses too. My main focus however was always the horses. I always<br />

believed that the horses who were at the center of this huge money-making enterprise,<br />

whether Classic winners or Claimers, deserved more consideration and the best possible<br />

life we could give them before, during and after their racing careers," she continues,<br />

adding, "Of course, this is something we should achieve for all horses, not just the high<br />

bred ones."<br />

Upon retiring from her career as an equine photographer and returning to Texas, Vivian<br />

decided it was time to apply her skills and life experience to championing the cause of all<br />

horses through raising public awareness about their plight, lobbying for stronger equine<br />

protection laws and pushing for the enforcement of existing ones.<br />

"It is a privilege to have the opportunity to give something back in honor of all the<br />

horses who have given so much to me," she concludes.
