The Medical Professor
For me the name ‘Passport’ means the basic document defi ning
a person’s citizenship. The passport is an important document of
trust between countries. For this reason the project that started four
years ago and maintained today by John Ortega and John Bonar
is extremely important for Russia at this time as we pass through a
complex period of establishing an open dialogue to foster mutual
trust and understanding between representatives of various cultures.
It is very important, that on the pages of the magazine against a
background of entertaining and lifestyle information, the editors
inform the readers and representatives of the international community
in Russia of new achievements in various spheres of public
life.
My particular passion is medical science and I have enjoyed the
coverage you have given this topic. I believe the information on new
medical technologies is very important for readers of Passport, the
people who have arrived to work in another country, plunged into
the unfamiliar new social environment. We understand that the
editor’s work is complex and you carry that responsibility well. I
therefore wish you health which will give to you force in your noble
work. With best regards on the occasion of the birthday of your
magazine.
The Diplomat
Johannes O. S. Manginsela
1st Secretary, Indonesian Embassy, Moscow
When I arrived in Moscow and was “a new
kid on the block” I really was lost as I have very
limited knowledge of the Cyrillic language.
Finding passport in the hotel lobby was just like
seeing a light at the end of a tunnel. It helped
me fi nd my feet in Moscow and it continues to
keep me aware of developments and forthcoming
cultural highlights. I am thankful for that.
Now, although I have had the opportunity to become
acquainted with many local publications
as my sources of information
diversify, Passport Magazine is
the one monthly publication that
I should not miss every month.
Congratulations to Passport
Magazine on this 4th Anniversary
and best wishes to all members
of the Passport team.
I was amazed to learn that Passport
magazine is only four years
old, so much has it become part of
my life. Like the good wine that it
frequently extols, it has been improving
with age while at the same
time retaining the right degree of
youthful vitality and diversity
All credit to John Ortega the proprietor
and the team he has gathered
round him; long may they
prosper.
Many of our students expect to
work with international advertisers
and multinational advertising
agencies when they graduate. So
it is important for us the teachers
and especially for the students to
get used to regular written English
communication and the interesting
range of articles in Passport magazine
turns what could be a chore
into a reading pleasure. Thank
you Passport for helping us all
improve our skills in your native
language and thank you on behalf
of the Faculty of Advertising and
our Dean, Alexander Borodai, for
the support you have demonstrated
to the faculty over the years.
