Airside Winter Operations<strong>Edmonton</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Airport</strong>3 RESOURCES3.1 EquipmentThe mobile fleet at <strong>Edmonton</strong> <strong>Airport</strong>s consists of a wide variety of equipment to meet our winteroperational needs. Under normal operation; 6 runway sweepers, 4 ramp hogs and 4 snow blowerswill be used in addition to a number of other condition specific units. Due to continual expansionwe have increased our personnel and fleet accordingly. <strong>Edmonton</strong> <strong>Airport</strong>s continues to evaluatenew technology and snow removal methods to improve our service levels in all areas.A detailed list of equipment is available from the Manager, Airside Operations - Field / Mobile.3.2 PersonnelDuring the winter season, from November to April, the full-time staff is supplemented by the hiringof seasonal operators. Staff is divided into 5 crews, 4 crews - 24/7 - 9 members per crew, each witha Foreman, Two additional crew members will be on Stand-By (2 on Day Shift, 2 on Night Shift)to assist the scheduled crew if conditions warrant, and additional staff may be called in to assist aswell.1- Apron specific crew, consisting of 6 members. 2 members assigned specifically for Gate 49snow removal requirements.The crews will be on site 24/7consisting of 2-12 hour shifts per day (Day- 06:00-18:00. Night-18:00- 06:00). The Manager and Superintendent are on duty during standard working hours. Parttime workers may also be retained for the winter season for Apron cleaning. Full time staffprovides standby coverage during the months of October and April.Resources will be allocated into specific working crews per shift, the breakout is as follows:-Runway’s / Taxiway’s-Apron I-Apron II, III, IV, VI and VII-GroundsideCrew staffing levels will be dictated by weather requirements.In severe weather additional resources will be called upon from Airside Operations Group andpossibly other parts of the organization.3.2.1 SchedulesSnow Removal Crew:Beginning November 12, 2013, until April 15, 2013, Operators are on site 24 hours per day,7 days per week.
