60 Hz PRODUCT RANGEHISTORY<strong>Zenit</strong> was established in the late 1950s. It was founded by Ugo Zeni to build andrepair electric motors and hydraulic pumps.It was based in Modena. It served the Italian market.In 1977 the company reins passed into the hands of the founder's daughter, Adriana,and her husband, Italo Bottan. The range of products <strong>Zenit</strong> designed and built wasextended: centrifugal, self-priming, volumetric, submerged, submersible and surfaceelectric pumps. The core market continued to be Italy.In 1985 the company took the strategic decision to focus its production efforts onsubmersible pumps for soiled waste water.1990 saw the start of <strong>Zenit</strong>'s expansion on to export markets in Europe, Asia andSouth America. It was also the year when Davide Bottan, the owners' eldest son,joined the firm.From 1990 to 1994 <strong>Zenit</strong> tripled its turnover and in 1995 it obtained UNI-EN-ISO 9001certification.In 1996 the company moved to the new plant at San Cesario, 10,000 m 2 in area.Lorenzo Bottan, Davide's brother, joined the company.During 1998-2002 the company expanded onto new markets and expanded its rangewith products for wastewater treatment: mixers, aerators and oxygenators.2001 was the year of foundation of APEX, a software firm which became a memberof the <strong>Zenit</strong> group.Between 2003 and 2004 <strong>Zenit</strong> was granted UNI-EN-ISO 9001:2000 companycertification and ATEX product certification.In 2006 it opened a new Regional Office in Singapore and in 2007 it inaugurated thenew production and sales location in China, on a site of 16,500 m 2 , with buildingscurrently occupying 8,000 m 2 of this.From 2006 to 2008 <strong>Zenit</strong> expanded its San Cesario plant to a total of 19,000 m 2 , andstart work on one the construction of one of Europe's most complete test tanks.In 2009 the new EMEA Regional Office (Europe, Middle East and Africa) in Luxembourgstarted operations: buildings of 3,000 m 2 on a site of 6,500.THE ZENIT LOGO1958 1977 2000 20105
