mecca, Chamonix attracts mountain guides and
backcountry addicts from around the globe both
to visit and to settle. It’s an area that’s impossible
to get bored of, with new challenges each day
from powder bowls to demanding couloirs and
impressive glacial routes in dramatic scenery.

The Chamonix lift system consists of several distinct and very different
ski areas high above a steep-sided valley where the town and its
villages are located. From one day to the next you can explore the
resort’s different ski areas: Brevent & Flegere, Les Grands Montets, Le
Tour & Vallorcine (Domaine de Balme), L'Aiguille du Midi / La Vallée
Blanche and Les Houches. And if that wasn’t enough, the Chamonix
Mont-Blanc lift pass extends over to Courmayeur and even Verbier!
All these different areas could prove a challenge if it wasn’t for our Ski
Club Leaders and minibus to ferry you around. So no need to check bus
times and walk to and from stops and lifts, we’ll collect you from the
hotel door and take you direct to whichever area you’re skiing that day.
These adventure weeks will explore the furthest reaches of all the ski
areas in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley. The first day will always be
a warm up day with the Leader, acclimatising you to the surroundings,
checking kit and getting your legs geared up for the challenges ahead.
The mountain guides we work with in Chamonix are second to none;
each has their own style and specialities but all are true experts and
enthusiasts on the area.

Hotel Prieuré
This cosy 3* hotel is in a fantastic central location, just
a moments walk from the bustling centre of Chamonix.
The hotel has a chalet feel from the décor of bare
wood and traditional fabrics, which extends from the
charming dining area through to each of the rooms.
Your stay is on a half board basis, which includes
a hearty breakfast buffet and delicious four-course
evening meal. There’s also the opportunity to ‘dine
around’ at one of the sister hotels as an alternative
one evening. In addition it's also well equipped with a
sauna and jacuzzi to help you relax and all mod cons in

Hotel Excelsior
The Hotel Excelsior is a traditional family run 2* hotel
located in the quiet hamlet of Tines, a ten minute drive
from the centre of Chamonix. The hotel restaurant is
well respected locally for its original and high quality
menu so you’ll be eating well here! Your stay is on
a half board basis and the hotel has a special daily
menu for their guests, or you can choose from the ‘a
la carte’ menu if preferred (payable locally). The rooms
are very simple yet generally spacious and some have
magnificent views of Mont Blanc.

Hotel de la Couronne
One of the oldest hotels in the valley, the Hotel de
la Couronne has been well received by Ski Club
Freshtrackers for many years now. With a friendly and
welcoming atmosphere, a location right in the heart
of Argentière and at the foot of the Grand Montets, it
is the perfect base for an off piste holiday. Staying on
a B&B basis allows you the opportunity to try out the
local restaurants - or head down to Chamonix for an
evening!
