11 1215 The Holy Qur’aan is the encyclopedia ofDivine knowledge. It is the last and the mostcomprehensive revealed Book. There is aconstant and repeated mention of One God,ALLAH, the Infinite and Perfect. He isOmnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent.His is the kingdom on the earth and in theheavens, and all that exists in betweenbelongs to HIM. There is repeated mention ofanother life in the Hereafter, which would beeternal. Holy Qur’aan gives warnings” to theguilty and “hope” to the righteous. HolyQur’aan constantly warns man againstSatan’s misgivings and consequent perils ofHell. Instead, Holy Qur’aan gives manguidance and an attractive goal to aspire for- the Blessings of Heaven. ALLAH hastherefore given him the guidance andshowed him the right path. Holy Qur’aanconstantly condemns idolatry, wrongconcept of begotten son and materialism.Holy Qur’aan provides guidance to man inevery sphere of human life whether it isreligious, social, secular or spiritual. Thusthe scope and the spread of Qur’aanicteachings are far more wide and far morecomprehensive than any other religion. Inits light, the right can be distinguished fromthe wrong and the virtue from the vice. Itgives guidance in character, moral andpersonality build up right upto ultimatehuman perfection stage. It lays down guidingprinciples for mental hygiene and for variousother aspects of social life from cradle to thegrave and even beyond. It lays down laws formarriage, divorce inheritance, charity,congregational prayers and for dozens ofother aspects of life. It prescribes strictestpunishments for sex crimes. Holy Qur’aangives a woman a high moral status andrespect. It treats her as free and as equalindividual and gives her a right to ownproperty.16. According to Holy Qur’aan all human beingsform one universal brotherhood irrespectiveof colour, class or creed. Only righteousnessand good deeds give man superiority overothers. All knowledge projects from only onesource - ALLAH. Holy Qur’aan is a treasure ofknowledge and wisdom. Holy Qur’aan urgesman to explore space and the heavens. Iturges man to build up a close relationshipwith nature. Let then the whole mankindread ALLAH’s Book, the Holy Qur’aan andponder, reflect, think and contemplate overits contents. It should be studied with acritical eye and an analytical mind. Themeaning of a verse is like a fragrance from arose bud. More of it is hidden in itssuccessive layers of petals. Deeper you gomore you understand. It should be acceptedonly after total inner satisfaction of mind,heart and soul. Then it should be adoptedpurely on merit and excellence alone.17.
