THE SUMMER FAIR
Millthorpe School’s first “Nearly” Summer
Holiday Fair took place on Saturday 7 July – it saw
the school site being taken over by an arts and
crafts fair, a falconry display, live music, a
barbeque, rugby taster sessions, and all manner
of stalls including summer favourites such as
‘splat the rat’ and a coconut shy. The event raised
over £1300 but Trevor Burton was keen to point
out “it is not just or mostly about the money.
What we achieved on Saturday was a really great
demonstration of community and fun.” Adrian
Lower, the head of the Friends of Millthorpe PTA
commented that “I think we took huge strides to
making Millthorpe less of "the place where the
kids go to school" and more towards a place
where people want to go and associate with fun
things to do.” An enormous thanks to all who
organised and supported the occasion.
